The Blues is the North American sister of Argentine Tango. Although it has followed a different, more popular, and more diverse historical path, it shares a deep musical and poetic kinship with tango. Both are rooted in longing, resilience, melancholy, passion, and the art of telling human stories through music.
And there is another connection: many blues pieces lend themselves remarkably well to dancing in the style of Argentine Tango.
Many of the tandas featured in the Tango Azules concept have already been successfully tested within Tango Armónico and are now waiting for a courageous organizer willing to dedicate an entire set—or even a whole milonga—to the encounter between Tango and Blues.
Tandas with cortinas are possible, but there is no fixed TTVTTM structure.
